OCCUPATION

When talking about jobs, the question to ask is:

żA qué te dedicas? What’s your job? (colloquial)
żA qué se dedica usted? What’s your job? (formal)

The possible answers to the question are:

  1. SOY + Name of job
  2. TRABAJO EN + Name of place of work
  3. ESTUDIO EN + Place of study
  4. ESTUDIO + subject of study
    5.

If the person is retired then we would say ESTOY JUBILADO/A

If the person is unemployed we would say ESTOY PARADO/A
