MEDIOS DE TRANSPORTE CÓMO DAR DIRECCIONES |
When we want to explain the location of a place we always use certain expressions which indicate which way we have to go. Here they are:
VERBOS
| Seguir | to follow, to continue |
| Coger | to take (in Spain) |
| Tomar | to take (in Latinamérica) |
| Girar | to turn |
| Torcer | to turn |
EXPRESIONES
| sigue todo recto | keep going straight ahead |
| gira a la derecha | turn right |
| gira a la izquierda | turn left |
| coge la primera calle a la izda. | take the first street on the left |
REPOSICIONES ÚTILES
| al lado de | next to |
| cerca de | near to / nearby |
| lejos de | far from |
| enfrente de | opposite |
| delante de | in front of |
| detrás de | behind |
| encima de | on top of / over |
| debajo de | under |
| junto a | next to |
| entre | between / among |
| por | through / by |
| hasta | until / up to |
Usually, when we explain the location of a place we follow an order, therefore it is useful to use words such as primero (first), luego (after), después (afterwards), a continuación (after that), por último (last), al final (at the end).
