When people express opinions, likes or dislikes we, as the listeners, can agree or disagree with what they say. The way we do it in Spanish is as follows:
1.- NORMAL SENTENCE WITH A NORMAL VERB. We can agree or disagree with a positive or negative statement.
| AGREEMENT | - with a positive statement: | Yo también |
| - with a negative statement: | Yo tampoco | |
| DISAGREEMENT | - with a positive statement: | Yo no |
| - with a negative statement: | Yo sí |
| EJEMPLO: | Yo soy profesor de español |
| -Yo también (acuerdo) | |
| -Yo no (desacuerdo) | |
| Yo no tengo coche | |
| -Yo tampoco (acuerdo) | |
| -Yo sí (desacuerdo) |
2.- SENTENCE WITH A VERB OF THE "GUSTAR" TYPE. We can agree or disagree with a positive or negative statement.
| AGREEMENT | - with a positive statement: | A mí también |
| - with a negative statement: | A mí tampoco | |
